Religion
5th and 6th grade Religion:
In fifth and sixth grade students will:
- Attend weekly school Mass and monthly Adoration, and participate in Reconciliation.
- Learn the concepts of the Creed through Sacred Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
- Study God’s covenants with mankind as part of His loving plan.
- Discover God's presence in liturgy and various forms of prayer.
- Gain an understanding of and encounter Christ through the Sacraments.
- Explore the vocations of the Catholic Church.
- Model and share their faith during monthly activities with their 1st grade Spirit Buddies.
- Participate in regular service projects.
7th and 8th grades Religion:
In seventh and eighth grades students will:
- Attend weekly school Mass and monthly Adoration, and participate in Reconciliation.
- Plan various school liturgies.
- Identify, discern, and maintain appropriate physical, emotional, spiritual, and sexual boundaries.
- Discover the Church through learning the concepts of the Creed and other Catholic theology.
- Deepen their understanding that it is through Christ that they can fully live out God’s plan for salvation.
- Discuss and explain the theology of the body in relation to family life.
- Discover God's presence in liturgy and
- various forms of prayer.
- Gain an understanding of and encounter Christ through the Sacred Scripture.
- Experience an encounter with Christ through the Sacraments.
- Explore the vocations of the Catholic Church.
- Model and share their faith during monthly activities with their PK and Kindergarten Spirit Buddies.
- Participate in regular service projects.
